Oregon’s very first Chief Science Officers!

The Chief Science Officer Program (CSO) aims to increase student’s voice and develop youth leaders in the STEM community by peer-electing students in grades 6-12. Once elected, CSOs serve as a STEM liaison for their school, peers, and community.

The 2017-2018 school year will be the first year that the Chief Science Officer movement takes place in Oregon. The Southern Oregon STEM Hub is incredibly thankful and excited to be leading a pilot that has potential to become a statewide initiative.

Our first year of CSOs represents 9 districts of the 13 that the Southern Oregon STEM Hub, through the Southern Oregon Education Service District, serves. With that, feel free to browse the informational flyers below and contact Allison Sweeney at 541-776-8590 ext. 1107 or allison_sweeney@soesd.k12.or.us with questions or for more information on how to get involved.
